Margraten 1945
It all started back in 1945, when my dad get friends with the Army chaplain at Margraten,
and helped him with the mass and sevices for the soldiers buried there.
He also wanted to adopt a grave, of one of the Gi's buried there.

That was Major Viktor Maleski, he had also wrote
to his widow, and received some pictures.
Viktor Maleski is reburied in his hometown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on request by his family back in 1949.

That same year he adopted a new grave, but the years went by and he joined
the Dutch Navy as a cook on a submarine.
In 1975 he returned to his hometown and found out that his adopted grave was also returned to the States,
he decided to adopt a new grave.
Since 1975 he has adopted the grave of Tec5 Charles Rogers, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division.
Because he wanted to now more about him, i went to search for more information about Charles Rogers.
Now some years later that resulted in the adoption of 12 graves buried on the American War Cemetery's in Holland and Belgium.
5 graves from Margraten, Holland

On the next pages you will find their story`s and information that we found about them.
